The Last Tug of Day
Original oil on canvas 43cm x 33cm. Ready to hang in a handmade float frame of Tasmanian oak timber. Tasmanian oak comes from sustainable and environmentally responsible sources and is FSC and PEFC certified.
The busy working Port of Newcastle is home to a fleet of very busy tugboats. These little work horses of the river are responsible for the safe passage of every container ship that visits the harbour. A big responsibility!
This one was slowly making its way out to sea late in the day. A storm had just passed over as the last rays of the setting sun created a spotlight effect causing everything to glow. The yellows of the tug contrasted so beautifully against the silvery mauves and greys of the river and sky, and I knew I had to capture it paint.
Price includes standard shipping and transit insurance within Australia.
Local pick up or drop off is also available.
