In May 2025 I took part in an artist's residency at the top of Nobbys, Whibayganba headland. One day a week for four weeks, I was lucky enough to have a wonderful scenic, wind whipped, and inspiring high vantage point from which to paint. While there I felt super charged creatively and completed many on-sight sketches and drawings. This panoramic scene over Newcastle with the ocean on one side and the Hunter River on the other was influenced by the vast all-encompassing views I was privileged to observe each day. Here the phrase, birds eye view, comes to mind as I distractedly observed from my high point all the busy human activities below.
