This painting belongs to the Ocean Gems series. A collection that drifts between realism and abstraction. An exploration into the transparent qualities of water, and the way that water and light when combined can sometimes resemble gemstones sparkling in the sunlight.
Although each piece in the series is inspired by a different body of water or rock pool, there seems to be no separation between the paintings when placed together. The fluidity of line and colour appears to have no beginning, and no end, flowing from one canvas to the next, much like water itself.
